Andrey Stelmaschuk is a 39-year-old man from Kyiv, Ukraine. He has a wife and two small children --3-months and ten years.
Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Andrey worked in strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions at Kyivstar, the largest mobile operator and one of Ukraine's largest broadband Internet providers. Before Kyivstar, he headed a bank's finance department, working with private investors in agriculture, renewable energy, and other financial opportunities.
Before February 24, 2022, Andrey's life was normal. Today it is not.
When the Russians invaded Ukraine, Andrey left his family, home, and job, put on a military uniform, and picked up a rifle as a volunteer Ukrainian Freedom Fighter. Today, after extensive military training, he is a Lieutenant Special Forces infantry platoon leader in the Ukrainian Regular Army, leading more than 30 troops on the front line in direct contact with the Russian aggressors. "Using his excellent management skills, he became a very well respected platoon commander," according to Peter Chernyshov, former CEO of Kyivstar Telecommunications. (See more about Mr. Chernyshov below)
In the photo above, Andrey is the soldier in the front row, slightly left of center, with a beard and sunglasses on his hat.
Like all volunteer Ukrainian men and women who left their jobs and families to pick up arms, Andrey and his men are fighting for the survival of their peaceful, free, and democratic country...their beloved homeland and their culture.
They also are fighting for democracy and freedom for the free world. Ukrainian volunteer Freedom Fighters know that if the Russians are not stopped in Ukraine, Russia will not stop after conquering Ukraine and more of free Europe is at risk.
Peaceful Ukrainians want to be aligned with the free and democratic Western world, not with oppressive Russia controlled by a murderous dictator. Ukrainians demand the right to determine their future. Ukrainian success on today's battlefield will determine the future of their families and country for many generations.
From the top down, the amazing courage and resolve of the outnumbered and outgunned Ukrainian military have stunned the Russian invaders and the entire world. When Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was offered an exit from his country and refuge at the onset of Russia's unprovoked invasion, he said, "I don't need a ride, I need ammunition."
From the President to the men and women on the front lines of battle, Ukrainians are willing to fight and die, protecting their chosen way of life. But they cannot win this terrible war without support. This Andrey's Platoon cause asks for support that will go directly to the front line to help the Freedom
Fighters stay safer and be more effective. They are Heroes in every way, and they deserve the support of those they fight and die for.
Putin's military has proven to be nothing short of sadistic. The Russian invaders continue to level cities, including schools and hospitals, destroy vital civilian electric and heat sources, and to torture, rape, kill, and plunder innocent civilians by the thousands.
Words cannot describe the savagery and human tragedy occurring daily in this peaceful democratic nation.
If these brave Ukrainian Freedom Fighters are willing to put their life on the line every day, will you support them with a donation you can afford?
To date, this Andrey's Platoon cause has raised $40,000 in donations to purchase special equipment for Andrey"s Platoon.
We want to salute Peter Chernyshov, the former CEO of Kyivstar Telecommunications, where Andrey last worked. Peter has raised $70,000 to support Andrey's Platoon with a pickup truck (but it recently found a land mine and was ruined), three sniper rifles, thermal imaging devices, and much-needed drones. Peter continues to fund two former military instructors from Sweden who train the Platoon soldiers. We want to match Peter's effort and hopefully do even better.
Andrey says his men lack special equipment to help keep them safer and be more aggressive on the battlefield. They can purchase this equipment on the market through volunteers in Europe, Canada, and the USA who order the equipment commercially and arrange for speedy delivery. Andrey says his platoon desperately needs these items:
Every dollar contributed directly supports Andrey's Platoon. Your contribution will help keep the Platoon alive and the enemy at bay until they can be defeated. Please help move Ukraine in the direction of victory over the murderous invader.

Hopefully, getting Andrey and his Platoon everything they need to fight and win is the start of this funding effort. Andrey tells me every Ukrainian platoon on the front lines needs exactly what he needs.
If we can get Andrey's Platoon what they need, we will move on to supporting other brave men and women on the front lines who have the same needs. Andrey will identify the next platoon that needs help, then the next, then the next...
We must remember the lessons of World War II. If we don't stop Putin's brutal aggression today, the free world will pay an exorbitant price later. We know Putin's tyrannical ambitions, and we know he will not stop until he IS stopped. The Ukrainian freedom fighters are proving their courage and resolve every day. Now it's time to prove our commitment to their democracy and freedoms.
What we do today will matter for generations to come.
We are grateful to Missy Martinette Pinkel and her fabulous team at LO Profile Magazine in Lake of the Ozarks for the ongoing generous donation of the Andrey's Platoon ad in LO Profile Magazine ( LOProfile.com)
We are grateful to our Lake of the Ozarks First Mid Bank branch for the ongoing donation of costly wire transfer fees as we transfer funds to Andrey's Platoon. First Mid helps us ensure 100% of funding goes directly to support these Freedom Fighters.
I am Bob Avery from Four Seasons, Missouri, on Lake of the Ozarks. I am in frequent contact with Andrey, and I built and published this website
I am a business graduate of the University of Missouri, a 20-year retired military veteran (Air Force pilot), and a retired FedEx Captain. As founder and managing director of Aviation Nation Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit military support organization working in cooperation with Nellis Air Force Base and the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, I co-founded the award-winning Aviation Nation Air Show, one of the largest air shows in the USA, in Las Vegas, Nevada. In retirement, I volunteer my time to the Boy Scouts of America as an Aviation Merit Badge counselor and my homeowner's association, as board president. I am now volunteering my time to support Andrey's Platoon and other Ukrainian Freedom Fighters in a war to save their peaceful country and personal freedoms.
My wife, Elena, is a Ukrainian from Kyiv. Elena is a Master Trainer for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a division of the World Bank. We own property in Kyiv and travel to the beautiful country frequently. Elena's mother and brother remain in Kyiv today, and she has family members and friends in Ukraine.
Elena's daughter, Kira, was a classmate of Andrey for 10 years. Elena and Kira have known Andrey since he was a young boy.
Elena and I personally funded Andrey's Platoon with cash contributions. But that wasn't enough for me. I want to do more to support every incredibly brave Ukrainian man and woman fighting for the survival of their free and democratic Ukraine. Hence, this website.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions about the legitimacy of this website If you want more information or have another idea on helping these hero warriors, contact me directly through my email or phone below.
